Earlier this summer, Dr. Mario Cruz, Medical Director of Pediatrics and Young Adult Medicine, and Chief Dental Officer Dr. Kari Hexem received a $20,000 challenge grant from the Jerome B. Miller Foundation to bolster medical-dental integration at the Pediatrics and Young Adult Medicine Center.
“Dr. Jerome “Jerry” Miller was a giant in the field of pediatric dentistry and advocacy, said Dr. Cruz, “and it’s humbling that his family would support our medical/dental integration at FIGHT as a way to honor him. It’s a responsibility that we don’t take lightly. There’s a lot to be proud of here at Philadelphia FIGHT Pediatrics, but our medical/dental integration is at the very top because it serves our most vulnerable children in a way that exceeds the expectations of their parents. It’s easily the most patient-centered initiative that we’ve ever implemented in our practice.”
