We are very sorry to announce that board member Sam Morales passed away on January 17th. All of us who knew Sam will miss him very much. He was a committed, determined, passionate advocate for the Latino/a community affected by HIV/AIDS, and by all people affected by the epidemic everywhere. He was a leader and mentor to many. His determination was in large part responsible for the development of Latino TEACH which he shepherded to fruition at Prevention Point. Sam never missed an opportunity, at a board meeting, an event, or just in conversation to pass on information about programs or services that might benefit somebody, or new ideas that he had heard about recently. Sam was part of many networks connected to change locally and nationally, but he was such a powerful advocate because he never forgot his roots and he always stayed connected to his community. His voice will be missed.
Rest in power Sammy. We will not forget you.
