October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a worldwide annual campaign to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness, education, research, and early detection and research. Breast cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in women. Men can get breast cancer as well, however research confirms that less than one percent of men are diagnosed each year. Getting mammograms and performing self-checkups regularly provides a chance for early detection, thus lowers the risk death.
