Meet Dr. Leah Scherzer, Medical Director of FIGHT’s Pediatric and Adolescent Health Center

Dr. Leah Scherzer joined Philadelphia FIGHT in July, 2023 after working for more than ten years as a pediatric outpatient physician at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. A graduate of Brown University with a B.A. in Urban Studies, Leah also received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Brown.

Dr. Scherzer is a Certified Lactation Counselor and is passionate about helping mothers in their breastfeeding journeys. “The daughter of an early childcare activist and a union organizer, Leah knew early on medical care was in her future. “I wanted to be a pediatrician from the time I was three,” she said. It seems Leah landed in the perfect place.

In October 2017 she passed the ALTA language certification for providers and is certified to complete medical visits in Spanish.
