About Eddie Davis
Eddie has a unique job at FIGHT, with the title of Creative Specialist and Receptionist. He also acts as Class Assistant for Faithful TEACH under Dr. Calenthia Dowdy.
Eddie’s history in the field long predates his time at FIGHT. Prior to FIGHT, Eddie worked with We The People as a Meals Consultant and helped feed 40+ people daily as well as larger meals for community events. In this time he also volunteered for FIGHT, and then was hired as a Peer Educator, embedded in HIV clinics around Philadelphia to support people living with HIV/AIDS. He was later promoted to Project TEACH Class Assistant and held that role for many years.
Currently, in addition to his responsibilities as a Receptionist and Faithful TEACH Class Assistant, his art and craft works appear in every corner of FIGHT. He creates seasonal decorations and unique art pieces to brighten up our locations. He has been making hand-made cloth face masks since the COVID19 pandemic began.
Eddie enjoys the camaraderie of FIGHT’s broad community. “I like being a part of a family that is a well-oiled machine for health care and justice. I hope to continue bringing my laughter, my talents, my ability to learn new concepts and to teach them to my peers, and my willingness to fight for what is right and just.”
