Event Description

The traditional model of Philadelphia FIGHT’s HIV and Hepatitis C Community Testing Program has evolved and expanded to include education, counseling, outreach and navigation to comprehensive, patient-centered, whole-person healthcare services to individuals in Philadelphia and the surrounding area who are living with or at risk of contracting viral hepatitis, HIV, sexually transmitted infections and those experiencing complications of unstable housing, poverty, incarceration, substance use disorder, and other factors contributing to healthcare disparities.

Objectives

  1. A review of traditional HIV and hepatitis C testing and navigation models 
  2. The importance of expanding services to include individuals who may not be aware of available resources 
  3. Strategies for changing counseling and educational messages provided to the community

She has worked in the public health and social service field for nearly 25 years and is committed to ensuring the availability of an array of valuable programs and resources for all those living in and around Philadelphia
