About Sashawna Parris

Sashawna has a Master of Social Work degree from Temple University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She has experience providing counseling and case management services to children, adolescents, and adults, in various community and agency settings. Sashawna has training in trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes a collaborative and compassionate approach to therapy in an effort to foster hope, healing and resilience. Sashawna has collaborated and served on multiple interdisciplinary teams, and supervised other Social Workers in the mental health field. She has assisted with the development and facilitation of groups run by the Women’s Program, in particular, a 12-week intensive psychoeducational trauma group ‘Women Empowered’, which is for women living with HIV/AIDS who are survivors of trauma. Sashawna provides emotional support and guidance to clients, focusing on adjustment issues and significant life changes in order to address mental health needs due to loss through trauma, illness or grief. She aims to empower her clients to create space, balance, time, and strength to process and embrace their mental health and psychosocial needs.
