David Fair is executive director of Turning Points for Children, which for 190 years has supported Philadelphia children and families in need of help.He has been a lifelong advocate in a variety of areas, including health care reform, AIDS services, children with mental health needs, homelessness, child welfare, and LGBTQ issues.
Fair has received over 50 community service awards from various Philadelphia agencies and organizations, including The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Citizen Award, the City of Philadelphia Human Rights Award, and the Philadelphia Gay News Legacy Award.
In 2024, Fair was inaugurated into the LGBTQ+ Hall of Fame in Philadelphia for his years of activism and his advocacy on behalf of children. He was also named among the top 101 Connectors in Philadelphia by Leadership Philadelphia, and has served on more than 80 local boards, committees, and activist groups since 1977.
