Dr. Sam Albanesi joined Philadelphia FIGHT in August 2024. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Allegheny College, he earned a Master of Arts in Urban Bioethics from Temple University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple. Dr. Albanesi completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Infectious Disease at Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Albanesi was drawn to the Lax Center because of his passion for HIV care. “FIGHT is truly on the forefront of HIV medicine in Philadelphia,” he says. “The best part about this job is building relationships with patients. I want to be someone in their lives that they can come to with problems so that we can try to make them better. It’s really rewarding to be trusted and to be let into someone’s life like that.”
