Xander Lopez, LSW, joined FIGHT in October 2023 in the newly-created position of Pride Navigator. Xander is based at the Y-HEP Adolescent and Young Adult Health Center and serves patients at all FIGHT Health Centers.
“The Pride Program is available to anyone under the LGBTQ umbrella, and it is geared toward gender-affirming care – trans and gender diverse folks,” he says, adding that his job often entails looking for resources beyond the scope of FIGHT. A self-described optimist,
Xander says, “I very much try to lead with the glass-half-full silver lining approach. When I come into a space with a patient, I hope they can see there’s an opportunity to thrive by being themselves.”
