Y-HEP Community Health Senter

The Y-HEP Youth Health Center offers comprehensive healthcare services to teens and young adults (ages 13-24). Our primary goal is to provide a safe and confidential space that is comfortable and welcoming for all young people. We see all patients, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. We offer same-day appointments and daily walk-in hours.

Primary Care

  • Physical exams
  • Sick and well visits
  • Vaccinations
  • On-site Blood-work/Lab testing
  • Care for chronic conditions (like asthma or diabetes)
  • Referrals to specialists
  • Nutritionist Visits
  • Mental health screening and referrals
  • Gender-affirming hormone therapy

Sexual and Reproductive Health

  • STD testing and treatment
  • Rapid HIV and Hep C testing
  • Birth control, including Nexplanon placement and removal
  • Emergency Contraception (Plan B)
  • Pregnancy testing and options counseling
  • Pelvic exams
  • Pap smears and anal HPV screening
  • Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV Prevention
  • Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) for HIV Prevention

Y-HEP Youth Health Center Hours

  • Mondays: 10am-7pm (Walk-in 1-5pm)
  • Tuesday-Thursday: 9am-6pm (Walk-in 9am-11am and 1pm-4 pm)
  • Fridays: 9am-4pm (Walk-in 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm)

Spotlight On

Karam Mounzer, MD

Dr. Mounzer identified two major gaps in the care of patients with HIV/hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection, and the complexity of multidrug-resistant HIV treatment. He is involved with many clinical trials focusing on drug development and better understanding of HIV immunopathogenesis with the Wistar Institute. He is involved in teaching and mentoring fellows, residents and students.

Dr. Mario Cruz

Dr. Cruz is a board certified pediatrician who joins Philadelphia FIGHT as the Medical Director for our Pediatrics and Adolescent Health Center. He completed his undergraduate training in Biology and Psychology from Union College, his medical school training at Albany Medical College, his residency training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and his Chief Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center
