Community Health Centers Clinic at Broad Street Ministry

In partnership with Broad Street Ministry and their hospitality collaborative, FIGHT Community Health Centers Clinic at Broad Street Ministry is a satellite site of John Bell Health Center offering primary care to the guests of Broad Street Ministry.

The satellite clinic offers primary medical care and dental screenings provided by Philadelphia FIGHT, and a social worker provided by Health Partners. This groundbreaking partnership helps provide access to quality health care for individuals who are struggling with homelessness and chronic health conditions.

The clinic is located within the drop-in space at Broad Street Ministry at 315 S. Broad Street. The medical and support staff are trained in providing culturally competent care to the homeless population and the guests of BSM. We are active members of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council to ensure we are current in best practices for the community. Our staff includes Clare Schoenberg, PA-C provides primary medical care to the guests of BSM under the supervision of Jay Kostman, MD, Medical Director of the John Bell Health Center.

All appointments currently are scheduled on site following an initial consultation at Broad Street Ministry. Please direct all potential or current patients to BSM during clinic hours.

Spotlight On

Karam Mounzer, MD

Dr. Mounzer identified two major gaps in the care of patients with HIV/hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection, and the complexity of multidrug-resistant HIV treatment. He is involved with many clinical trials focusing on drug development and better understanding of HIV immunopathogenesis with the Wistar Institute. He is involved in teaching and mentoring fellows, residents and students.

Dr. Mario Cruz

Dr. Cruz is a board certified pediatrician who joins Philadelphia FIGHT as the Medical Director for our Pediatrics and Adolescent Health Center. He completed his undergraduate training in Biology and Psychology from Union College, his medical school training at Albany Medical College, his residency training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and his Chief Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center
