Exploring Discomfort & Building Confidence in Suicide Assessment with Youth

Event Description

Location: Room 406

In this presentation, we will explore relational techniques for engaging in discussions around suicidal ideation with youth. We will review current data, common interventions and focus on how ground ourselves while supporting young people. 

Workshop Objectives

1. Encourage participants to share their own utilized resources and create a collaborative repository 
2. Provide practical tips & strategies to empower young people, such as active listening, empathy-building exercises, and strength-based approaches 
3. Allocate dedicated time during the workshop for participants to reflect on their own well being and self-care practices
