Teach Recovery Education Empowerment (TREE)

As a licensed Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for people living with HIV/AIDS, our mission is to help individuals struggling with Drug and Alcohol Use Disorder to establish and maintain recovery by offering individualized and person-centered treatment. We believe that there are multiple pathways to recovery based on an individual’s unique strengths, resiliencies and personal experiences.

TREE is an intensive nine to twelve month program based on the individual.

How Our Program Works

When an individual becomes addicted to drugs or alcohol, their life skills, maturity and ability to cope with stress and responsibility often come to a standstill. As a result, participants may struggle to maintain healthy relationships. Therefore, our groups offer peer support and help participants learn how to effectively manage their life on life’s terms.

Our Approach

Participants attend three 3-hour group sessions and one individual session per week. Our curriculum is based on the Department of Mental Health’s (DMH) Recovery Transformation model. The participants are assisted with developing their own wellness action recovery plans which delves into:

  • Self-awareness and a sense of hope
  • Personal responsibility and self-advocacy
