Clinica Bienestar

In partnership with Prevention Point Philadelphia and the Norris Square Civic Association, Clinica Bienestar (Well Being Services), is one of the city’s first Spanish-speaking HIV clinics. The primary care clinic is supported by the extensive medical, case management and social services of Philadelphia FIGHT.

Clinica Bienestar (Well-being Clinic) is a comprehensive HIV primary care clinic created through a partnership between Philadelphia FIGHT Community Health Centers and Prevention Point Philadelphia (PPP). It is located within PPP’s Harm Reduction Services Center at 2913-15 Kensington Avenue in North Philadelphia. Clinica Bienestar staff are especially skilled in providing medical and social services to individuals who are actively using or have a history of using injection drugs and have received inconsistent HIV medical care. The medical providers, medical case management, clinical staff, and outreach workers are bilingual in English and in Spanish. Services provided at Clinica Bienestar include HIV primary care, hepatitis C treatment, HIV  PrEP, wound care, medical case management, medication-assisted treatment, and harm reduction services.

Spotlight On

Karam Mounzer, MD

Dr. Mounzer identified two major gaps in the care of patients with HIV/hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection, and the complexity of multidrug-resistant HIV treatment. He is involved with many clinical trials focusing on drug development and better understanding of HIV immunopathogenesis with the Wistar Institute. He is involved in teaching and mentoring.

Dr. Karam Mounzer

Dr. Mario Cruz

Dr. Mario CruzDr. Cruz is a board certified pediatrician who serves as the Medical Director for our Pediatrics and Adolescent Health Center. He has presented and/or published in the fields of community violence and domestic violence prevention, quality improvement, behavioral health, curriculum development and mentorship. In 2019 he received the Greater Philadelphia Social Innovation Award for Innovations in Healthcare.
