Mariah Jones, PA-C


Mariah has been a clinician at the Lax Center for since June 2020. Mariah is an experienced full-time physician assistant specializing in primary care. Mariah has a special interest in chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and substance use disorder. Mariah is an active member in the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants (PSPA).

Board Certifications

Mariah is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the state of Pennsylvania as a Medical and Osteopathic Physician Assistant.

Education & Training

Mariah received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University in 2015.She completed her master’s in science in physician assistant studies from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017.

Karam Mounzer, MD

Dr. Mounzer identified two major gaps in the care of patients with HIV/hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection, and the complexity of multidrug-resistant HIV treatment. He is involved with many clinical trials focusing on drug development and better understanding of HIV immunopathogenesis with the Wistar Institute. He is involved in teaching and mentoring.

Dr. Mario Cruz

Dr. Mario CruzDr. Cruz is a board certified pediatrician who serves as the Medical Director for our Pediatrics and Adolescent Health Center. He has presented and/or published in the fields of community violence and domestic violence prevention, quality improvement, behavioral health, curriculum development and mentorship. In 2019 he received the Greater Philadelphia Social Innovation Award for Innovations in Healthcare.
