The Community Health Training Alliance presents Philadelphia’s Path Towards HCV Elimination in honor of World Hepatitis Day.

Robert Greenwald is a Clinical Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and the Faculty Director of the Law School’s Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation (CHLPI).

Robert Greenwald is a Clinical Professor of Law at Harvard Law School and the Faculty Director of the Law School’s Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation (CHLPI). In addition to teaching seminars in health and public health law and policy, for over 25 years Robert has been engaged in state and national research, policy development and advocacy to expand access to high-quality healthcare, reduce health disparities, and promote more equitable and effective healthcare systems. Since 2014, Robert and his team at CHLPI have been leading efforts to eliminate unfair and discriminatory Hepatitis C health insurance practices through education, advocacy and litigation. Robert serves as co-chair of the Chronic Illness & Disability Partnership and the HIV Health Care Access Working Group. From 2000-2006 Robert served as a member of the President’s Advisory Council on AIDS and as co-chair of its Access to Care Sub-committee. Robert has also served as a consultant to the Health Resources Services Administration and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Community Advisory Board.

Stacey Trooskin, MD PhD

Stacey Trooskin, MD PhD, is the Director of Viral Hepatitis Programs at Philadelphia FIGHT Community Health Centers. and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her MPH from Yale University School of Public Health, her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and her PhD from Rutgers School of Public Health. She completed her internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Trooskin’s primary research interest focuses on health disparities and developing and evaluating innovative models of HCV testing and linkage to care. Dr. Trooskin serves at the Chief Medical Advisor to the National Viral Hepatitis Round table and is a member of the AASLD/IDSA HCV Guidelines Committee.

Spotlight On

Karam Mounzer, MD

Dr. Mounzer identified two major gaps in the care of patients with HIV/hepatitis C (HCV) co-infection, and the complexity of multidrug-resistant HIV treatment. He is involved with many clinical trials focusing on drug development and better understanding of HIV immunopathogenesis with the Wistar Institute. He is involved in teaching and mentoring fellows, residents and students.

Dr. Mario Cruz

Dr. Cruz is a board certified pediatrician who joins Philadelphia FIGHT as the Medical Director for our Pediatrics and Adolescent Health Center. He completed his undergraduate training in Biology and Psychology from Union College, his medical school training at Albany Medical College, his residency training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and his Chief Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center
