What is health equity? This session aims to explicitly answer this question and focus on the social determinants of health impacting marginalized communities of color. This webinar will also discuss Dr. Flash’s work within the fields of HIV/AIDS prevention and well-being. We will also provide the practical steps needed to take to get to true health equity to create positive health outcomes for BIPOC communities.
Dr. Charlene Flash
Dr. Flash speaks nationally on infectious disease and health disparities and has led HIV/AIDS prevention programs for marginalized communities. Her approach to healthcare transcends a disease treatment model and examines how people can achieve wellness and whole, healthy lives.
Most recently Associate Chief Medical Officer at Legacy Community Health, Dr. Charlene Flash also holds a clinical faculty position as an assistant professor of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Flash previously developed and led Harris Health’s HIV Prevention Program, touching many lives throughout Southeast Texas. She graduated from Yale University and earned her medical degree and Master of Public Health from Rutgers University.
