Sexual Health Awareness Month

The World Health Organization defines sexual health as an important part of our physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality. Sexual health is not just avoiding STI’s or unplanned pregnancies, it is also the ability to embrace and enjoy our sexuality. It is. Sexual health requires a positive approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination, and violence. Recognizing and respecting sexual rights, having access to sexual health information and care, being able to communicate about sexual health with partners and healthcare providers, and being able to experience sexual pleasure and intimacy when desired are all a part of positive sexual health.
