HIV Counseling and Testing

The Counseling and Testing team at Philadelphia FIGHT seeks to reduce HIV acquisition and transmission by providing the most up-to-date information about HIV to those who need it most. Counseling and Testing also helps individuals create personalized risk reduction plans to protect themselves and others from HIV. Additionally, our Counseling and Testing Staff are trained to assist individuals living with HIV get the medical care and services they need.

According to the City of Philadelphia AIDS Activities Coordinating Office, Philadelphia is the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Pennsylvania. More than 30,000 Philadelphia residents are living with the virus that causes AIDS. Many people do not know their status and have never been tested. HIV testing at Philadelphia FIGHT is free of cost and completely confidential.

We welcome walk-ins and appointments.  Our walk-in hours are:

Monday:          9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm (3rd Floor)
Tuesday:         9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm (3rd Floor)
.                     5pm-7pm (2nd Floor, through AIDS Library)
Wednesday:    9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm (3rd Floor)
Thursday:        9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm (3rd Floor)
.                     5pm-7pm (2nd Floor, through AIDS Library)
Friday:            9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm (3rd Floor)

Philadelphia FIGHT offers Late Night HIV testing the last Wednesday of every month in partnership with Woody’s and 13th Street Pizza.  Get tested the last Wednesday of the month between 8pm and 1am and receive free admission to the Woody’s dance floor and a free slice of pizza from 13th St. Pizza.

Counseling and testing services are also provided at various sites throughout the city. Our counselors are in the community, and offer the same level of high quality confidentiality and counseling available in our offices. We provide sexual health presentations to accompany HIV testing, and present on topics tailored to the needs of a specific audience or community.
