FIGHT offers AIDS Education Month Community Presentations to the Philadelphia community June 1st- 30th. Trained FIGHT staff and Peer Educators will bring an HIV presentation to local agencies, churches and community groups. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the current state of the AIDS epidemic, the basics of HIV transmission and treatment, and information on local resources for prevention, testing, and medical care. They will also be able to “connect the dots” between ongoing social problems in Philadelphia and structural drivers of the global AIDS epidemic. Through this presentation, FIGHT hopes to provide a thorough understanding of the challenges this disease presents.
Working with Youth? Interested in a Sexual Health Workshop? This year the Youth Health Empowerment Project (Y-HEP) is offering Sexual Health Presentations to young people BY young people. If you are a teacher or work with youth in anyway, we will come out to you in June and have a real conversation about healthy relationships, STDs, and HIV. Contact Tiffany Thompson, tthompson@fight.org or 215-564-6388, to bring Y-HEP out!
