Let’s celebrate the start of AIDS Education Month! Please join us for hors d’oeuvres, great conversation, and the presentation of the annual Kiyoshi Kuromiya awards!

This year Philadelphia FIGHT chooses to honor the 10th Anniversary of the death of Kiyoshi Kuromiya by selecting individuals who stood alongside Kiyoshi while he was alive and fought for People Living with HIV and have become leaders in the fight for those living with HIV in the work they do now. The 2010 recipients are:

Julie Davids, founder of CHAMP for her continued work on the national level to advocate for prevention and treatment justice.

Asia Russell, one of the founders of Health GAP, for her continued work on the International level to demand access to treatment for PWA around the globe.

David Acosta, of AACO, for his continuing role at the local level to advocate for PWAs and in particular his work with the latino and LGBTQ communities to address stigma.

Roy Hayes, for his continuing role as a leader in ACT UP and as a mentor to people living with HIV to become advocates and activists.

(Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and Cash Bar)
